Work/Study Camp

Work/Study Camps are staples at CM, because of our desire "to raise up passionate disciples".  We believe that young men who spend several nights away from the business of life to work and study will find it conducive to growth as a believer.  Limited to 14 young men per week.

Discuss with your son the idea of work, reading and studying, and if the Lord leads, sign up!  We love to see these young men grow, and we pray it will be a God-honoring summer.

An overarching focus on meaningful things keeps CM campers asking questions and finding answers. Because of our commitment to small groups, and by centering on hard work and diligent study, CM is able to provide a truly one-of-a-kind camp.

Castle Ministries has been designed to further educate and disciple young Christians by providing them with a place for study and solitude. While CM camps have no shortage of group activities, a significant portion of every day is dedicated to reading, writing, and studying Scripture alone. This "alone time" is a rare break from the constant bustle of today's culture.

CM campers enjoy afternoon sports such as ultimate frisbee, badminton, kickball, and water-balloons which help to release energy and build team spirit. Campers are able to excel in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere and are actually responsible for the creation of a rapidly growing new sport known affectionately as "Fat Ball".

Castle Ministries sits on 145 acres of mountain-top property in Strawberry Plains, TN. In order to be good stewards of our land, campers help with an assortment of projects. These efforts include manicuring the land, clearing additional trails, and participating in various forestry initiatives. Campers learn valuable outdoor skills, but more importantly develop an appreciation for hard work.

CM camp's $175 cost covers all meals and snacks, a CM t-shirt, reading material, facilitators, and loads of fun. Camps are open to Middle and High School boys who are willing to work and have a heart for things of the Lord. If cost or any other barrier comes up, please contact us and we'll try to make things work for you.

"CM camps rock! They are full of fun and have helped me grow closer to God. Outside of family, Mr Stock is definitely a man I look up to! And if not him, it's the older high schoolers that participate at the camps. I highly encourage your young men to go."

Matthew, Age 13

"I first came to a Castle Ministries summer camp in 2008, having been invited by a couple of my friends who knew Mr. Stock. Since then, the Castle has become one of my favorite places in the world. There's really nowhere else like it. Rarely can so much fun, meaningful work, and intellectual discussion come together under one roof. Through CM camps and retreats, I've made great friendships, gained unique experiences, and made memories I wouldn't trade for anything. I'll definitely be coming back for more!"

Brendan, Age 16

"Participating in Castle Ministries' camps is a very fun and interesting experience. The work is fun, the games are fun, and the fellowship is great. The food is tolerable. One has the time to relax and read from books like the Bible and Deitrich Bonhoeffer. The thing that I enjoyed the most was playing fatball in the rain. One thing I learned was that a tree can be killed by cutting off a ring of bark all the way around the tree."

John, Age 13
